Frequently Asked Questions

CHOOSING Her Wellness Center can help you with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress management, and more. We will work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your unique needs and goals.

The frequency of therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from weekly sessions, while others may attend bi-weekly or monthly sessions.

This will depend on your individual needs and goals.  Treatment is tailored to your specific needs, goals, and pace.

Therapy doesn't have a fixed end date—it varies for each person. Some clients come with a specific goal in mind and may feel ready to conclude therapy once that goal is reached. Others may benefit from longer-term support, especially when working through deeper or ongoing issues.

We’ll regularly check in together to assess your progress and discuss whether continuing therapy, adjusting the frequency, or ending feels right for you. Ultimately, the decision to end therapy is a collaborative one, based on your needs, goals, and overall well-being.

If you're ever unsure, you're always welcome to bring it up in session—we’re here to support you through every step, including knowing when it’s time to move forward.

Prior to becoming an established client, you will be asked to complete paperwork that can help us understand what brings you to therapy. After the new client paperwork is received we will be in touch to schedule a new client therapy intake (60 minutes). After the new client intake, you and your therapist will find an established day and time for therapy sessions, which helps build trust land momentum in your healing process. You and your therapist will meet for therapy either weekly, biweekly, or monthly. During the course of treatment, you and your therapist will develop and review your personalized treatment plan.

Therapy is a process, and progress can look different for everyone.

Progress isn’t always linear. There may be ups and downs, but part of therapy is learning to navigate those more effectively. If you’re ever unsure, it’s okay to bring it up in session—talking with your therapist about how you’re feeling is a valuable part of the process.

Yes—confidentiality is a core part of therapy, and your privacy is taken very seriously.

What you share in therapy stays between you and your therapist. This creates a safe, trusted space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment or outside involvement.

However, there are a few legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality, which your therapist will go over with you at the start. These typically include:

If there’s a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else

If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult

If your records are subpoenaed by a court of law

Even in these rare cases, your therapist will try to involve you in the process as much as possible and only share the minimum information necessary to keep people safe.

If you ever have questions or concerns about privacy, don’t hesitate to ask—your therapist will be happy to explain and make sure you feel safe and informed.

See our POLICIES page for more information.

Both personal support and therapy are valuable—but therapy is completely focused on you. It gives you a safe, unbiased space to grow. Your therapist has the training and experience to help you professionally. Your therapist is trained to use evidence-based techniques to help you understand yourself and create real, lasting change. They will listen without judgment and keep your information private, so you can talk openly—even about things that feel messy or complicated.  Your therapist can help you explore patterns, beliefs, and emotions that might be hard to see on your own or talk about with people close to you.
